Missions

One of the ways we express the love of Jesus and fulfill the Great Commission is by tangibly serving those in need; by meeting real needs in Jesus’ name.

We have a ”missions community” that meets the first Sunday of the month, following the morning service. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Opportunities to Get Involved

  • Wood-Cutting Parties – Held throughout the year to raise money for special projects.
  • Cold-Weather Shelter – Hosted in the AFMC youth center, Thursdays and Fridays, on nights below freezing, November through March.
  • Haiti Building Team – Supporting the work of the Free Methodist Church in Haiti, this team is involved in annual construction projects.  Trips usually run for 2 weeks in February.
  • Guatemala Medical Missions – Taking basic medical care to rural villages in Guatemala for 2 weeks each spring.

Opportunities to Give – you can give towards mission projects each Sunday morning during the offering.  Denote on your envelope which mission you’d like to support.

  • Haiti Building Team
  • Jericho Arlington – an emergency fund for families in crisis.
  • Bishop’s Famine and Relief Fund – Used by the Free Methodist Church to distribute emergency aid to countries during national emergencies.
  • General Missions Funds – Distributed by the Missions Committee for special projects.
  • Individual Missionaries
